Had a tarot reading in Salem, Massachusetts - interpretation?

Hi,

I have just been away on holiday to the States and had a couple of days in “Witch City” (Salem)

Couldn’t resist a reading at a Magic shop owned by modern day Witches.

The man reading my cards started the reading by saying he wasn’t there to blow smoke up my ass, or to tell me i’m an amazing person, or to give me the lotto numbers!! He said he couldn’t predict the future as such, but could read about situations around me and it’s up to me what I do about it.

To be fair he was spot on about different situations in my life at present, but i’m in a bit of a panic now as he pulled the death card!

I remember seeing death card, wheel of fortune, hermit and fool. There may have been some Goddess or Empress there too but I can’t be certain.

Anyway, does anyone know the significance of these cards?

He said that i’m procrastinating massively and need to hurry up and make the changes I know are needed with work and to do them immediately (I’m considering opening a new business and have been for 2 years but never made the leap) He also said there’s a time of great change ahead. He did say the wheel of fortune is positive but it’s pointless if I don’t “jump on the wheel”

Interestingly, he got pregnancy from these cards. He said before the end of the year I will likely be pregnant. I didn’t tell him this, but I’m having an embryo transfer in December, so this was amazing news to me - I’m just not sure how those cards point to pregnancy? He seemed to think death did from what he said.

Anyway, i’m panicking about this death card and was looking for reassurance that I won’t keel over 🙈

Death is meant to be defined as a change - the death of an old way of life, or a situation. It's rarely about actual death.

I have pulled the death card many times in readings for myself and friends, and it has never been followed by an actual death.

Doesn't the death card mean a variety of things? It's just an ending but not necessarily end of life. So maybe the end of your present work?

Death is a new beginning or similar not negative

My understanding was the death card doesn't mean death, try not to panic and read into it !

Death in tarot rarely signifies actual death, more likely a major change. Death, wheel of fortune & it would of been the empress (signifies pregnancy) are great cards for a new start and abundance!

Death means a big change. It means Death of something and making way for something new. Leaving your job may come up as Death for example. Having a baby could also come up as Death as it means your old life is irrevocably changing.

Wheel of Fortune can mean something like good luck or life speeding up. It depends what cards are around it.

The Empress can mean motherhood.The Hermit is a time of deep contemplation or aloneness.

You have a lot of major cards which can mean either he only used major cards or there are big life changes coming up for you.

The card's meanings change depending on what other cards are around them but WOF/Empress/Death could mean that a gamble you've taken, results in pregnancy and death of your old life because of the pregnancy.

I may be imagining Empress, I can’t be certain, I just recall a female/feminine card there somewhere. I wish i’d have taken a pic or taken a proper look. Hermit, death, fool and wheel of fortune were defo there, as was a card that signified “2” or double. I think it looked a bit like a Yin/Yang card.

He definitely kept bleating on about major change and the need for me to stop procrastinating and just “hurry up” That could be the work or the IVF actually. I’m procrastinating with both as am scared a pregnancy will impact my career - that’s only just gotten back on track after the birth of my child (Doing this for a sibling)

My child is that bit older and independent now, childcare fees are no longer an issue etc so a new baby would definitely be a huge change for us, going back to that stage.

He also said there was a strong male energy in the reading and that someone (male) is taking far too much from me & boundaries are essential- This is accurate. My dad is a real thorn in my side and it’s incredibly unhealthy.

The boundaries card sounds like The Emperor. Was the female card the High Priestess? It tends to be a woman sitting between two pillars.

The 2 card sounds like the Two of Pentacles. If that's the case, you've received a load of Major Arcana cards which are very significant.

The Fool means taking a leap of faith or new beginnings. If you had the Hermit/Fool that could mean a long time of contemplation leading to a leap into something new.

It's difficult to give you an accurate reading without knowing where the cards are in the spread.

The two of Pentacles can mean juggling several things at once for example work and home life.

A card telling you to 'hurry up' maybe a reversed Hermit which means you've been contemplating for too long. This is all guesswork OP but I'm glad you've been reassured. Death rarely means an actual Death.

I honestly can’t remember the spread, I was too engrossed in what he was saying but hermit, death, fool and wheel of fortune were definitely there. The others i’m not certain of but he said there was lots of male energy in the cards.

I wonder if the change could be related to a male. In my life - my partner of 20 year’s maybe? Just with there being such a male energy there.

i wish i’d have snapped a picture of the spread. I was just so excited to he having a reading in Salem, obviously noted for all of its supernatural, mystical vibes.
