The unexplained

Bathroom window open

Ok tonight I went to the loo at 00.01 and my parcel window ( the small side window) of my bathroom window was open. The window beside it the large one had the handle turned slightly. I had to “click” it back into place when I noticed it.
This bathroom has a flat roof in front of it.

its been cold, I’m trying not to put on the heating so there is NO way I’d open that window. The kids had a bath last night and it was closed, I pee’d earlier today and it was closed. There have been no other adults in my house today.

My kids are 3&4, and they would have to climb on my bath to reach up and open this window that has a push button lock on it. So really my 4yo would be the only one who could maybe do it, and it’s VERY unlikely that he could.

I have no explanation as to how it is open & now can’t sleep thinking someone is in the house ( I’ve checked everywhere except the loft bedrooms, cause you don’t go upstairs in a horror movie… right)

Is it possible I opened it and COMPLETELY forgot that I did? ( I’m thinking was there a bug that I wanted to let out, but as I’m delaying putting the heating on I’m so certain I wouldnt open it/ leave it open)

Do I have a poltergeist trying to get out?

Is it possible someone opened it from the outside and was reaching in to open the other one??

any wisdom?

I think it will be you didn’t properly close it whenever the last time was and it’s worked it’s way open - much more likely than strangely silent burglar

Would it have been locked if it were closed. Yes, someone could have pushed it open with a view to opening the main window. Make sure everything is locked and put some bottles etc in front of the windows to make any attempt to gain entry very noisy.

Yes, it clicks to lock in place when we close it. So it makes it almost tricky to push and twist it open. I have a plant and some calpol bottles in front of it right now. Just super random that it was open when I am 100% certain it was properly closed when I was there after the kids went to bed.
