Questions for mediums

I have some questions for people who are mediums. I recently saw a medium and although not everything she said meant something to me, 75% was very meaningful. I really wanted to ask her some questions but I was too nervous! Do you actually hear the voice of people's loved one? Do you see them? Or is it more like a feeling? Do you know when you are getting things right or wrong? I guess I always wonder why the messages cannot be more specific, is it because it is a difficult process on either side? I know not everyone believes in this but would love to hear from just people who do! Thank you in advance x

Well yes @Libertybear80 I was sceptical before the reading BUT some things that were said were spot on and its made me very very interested in what happens!

I’ve often wondered the same. I’ve had a similar experience to you and I would love to think it’s true because close family came through but rationally I suspect there’s some very good cold reading and luck involved

When I was at a spiritualist church one of them gave me someone coming through with a name which was unusual and it was the name of my paternal grandfather (dad's dad) who I knew as a baby and young child but didn't keep in touch with. He apparently wasn't very nice either! There was an interesting comment to do with my DM's house and a fence and that was very strange because unless he knew the house (he'd been there) he wouldn't know about it and it was true! He was also more of a practical man and would have given advice about it (security).

The other person they said came through, I had no idea who it was, not his wife nor my step grandmother and not my other nana.

I would love it to be true. How amazing if it were! I don’t think it can be though sadly. I imagine that many mediums want it to be true as well, and when you both want it to be true you’ll find a way to convince yourself.

I think it's different for each medium, but I find it difficult to describe the experience. I've only very recently explored my ability so I haven't done readings for anyone I've just been reaching out to see what happens.
I tried to explain to my husband but it's hard to put into words - I don't really 'see' or 'hear' people, it's more of an awareness that they're there, a mental image of what they look like, and it's as if they 'drop' words into my mind. Kind of like when you have an internal conversation with yourself about something, but it's with someone else, if that makes sense?
I also have no idea why or how people make contact, my process is to reach out to anyone who wants to communicate. I've had several people I knew, but also a couple I don't. I never get more than a few sentences, if anything at all, it seems like it can be difficult for them to communicate, but I'm not sure why that is.
In your case it could be that some random people came to the medium, but obviously they don't know whether or not the person communicating is someone you know so they'll just tell you about everyone.
Of course as a pp said it could be that the medium was a fake and taking you for a ride, we all know that they're out there unfortunately, but I sincerely hope that wasn't the case for you

I'm a medium. I'm not a con artist and believe my gifts are genuine. I have learnt to tap into them a lot more now.

For me it's images and 'feelings' almost like gut feelings and strong intuition.

Hi there. Do you remember how the medium connected to you? Did she use tarot or an item of yours?

Thank you all - its good to hear how these things 'work'. I actually found my reading to be very very comforting and even healing. I have a strong feeling now that I will see my loved ones again one day.

I don’t believe in mediums. If you are an intuitive person and you can read body language it is so easy to guess facts about a stranger. I used to read tarot cards for fun and everybody was shocked because I “guessed” everything. It was all what they call cold reading. I’m just good at reading people.
I don’t believe we can contact the dead and if there is an afterlife I truly hope I will be ablento enjoy it without being summoned by people on Earth.
Mediums take advantage of people’s emotions and grief.

Also, I lost my dad unexpectedly. It happened 13 years ago and I never, ever received a sign or a message from him. Believe me, if there was a person who would do anything to contact me from the other side, that was my dad.
