Earring turned up

So at the weekend I “lost” my earring once in a hotel room and then later on next day thought I’d lost it coming off a bus.

I searched everywhere I’d been even including my car but no luck.

Was tidying a messy bedroom and then looked on floor and there was the earring!

It’s a special pair as bought by SIL and DB for me. The house is I think haunted but not in a nasty way just feel presences sometimes.

What happened? Coincidence or other?

It got caught in or on something and you transported it home.

I had this happen once. I looked everywhere for it. Pavement, recycling bins, school playground. I had this weird feeling it would just turn up though. I walked into the bathroom (I’d already been in there a few times) and it was in the middle of floor. Unmissable.

I find these instances fscinating. DH's wedding ring went missing once, we hunted high and low in the house and car, and assumed it must have gone down the sink or into a bin by mistake. A few months went by then one day I walked into the kitchen and it was on top of the tumble dryer, which was next to the door and not under a counter or cupboard. Very strange, I like to think fairies are around helping us out :-)

What do you mean you thought you lost it at the hotel room but lost it on the bus ?

@Gonnagetgoing - I was staying at a hotel near my house - I’ve been having some work done on floorboards which are a bit unstable so me and boyfriend went to a hotel when he visited. The earring came off and I found it in my suitcase which was sort of half open. The hooks of the earrings are a bit strange enyway.

Next day I went out and boyfriend went out but as I’d drunk a bit I never drive next day or try not to so got bus. Noticed when coming off only one earring in my ear. Nowhere else!

The timing of this thread is really uncanny to me.

I am the least woo person I know but in the last two weeks I have 'lost' an earring from the same ear twice. Both times I realised it was gone when I looked in the mirror...

The first time I mentioned to my daughter that I had lost it and she said 'oh, it's on the bathroom windowsill'. And there it was with its butterfly back firmly attached to it.

The second time I saw it was missing I thought it must have dropped off and thought I would have a look around the house for it. Then within a few minutes found it on the top of my made bed, back firmly attached again.

My mind is blown. How can it have come off with the butterfly clip still on it? And they are stiff buggers to get off anyway.

It was caught in your hair or scarf or necklace. At least you hadn't binned the other one like I did once because I was so upset. Lol. Not.

About 15 years ago I lost a glove coming through an airport. They were expensive leather gloves and I was annoyed. I kept the other one and put it in a drawer. About 9 months later I came out of the house to find the lost glove lying in the middle of the front garden. Presumably it hadn't been 'lost' but caught on something, then dropped as I got out of the car, blown under a bush, overwintered and then blown back out 9 months later, but not blown so far so that I didn't find it. I still have the gloves. I'm scared if I bin them they'll turn up on my doorstep the next day.

Same evening as the earring story above, it was New Year's and I was getting the train again to go out. I'd realised I'd lost one of my cherished red leather gloves. Doubly pissed off. Just outside the station there was the lost glove glistening on the ground in the pouring rain. I still have them 15 years-ish later 🙂 You win some you lose some.
