I'm not the Mumsnetter you are referring to, but I am a Tarot reader and would be willing to do a reading for you both. NO OTHERS.

I should point out that I'm not a psychic, I don't believe in psychics (if they have psychic abilities why would they need tarot cards?), and I know for a fact that the Tarot cannot predict the future. Nothing can predict the future (even a so-called psychic) as that would require the future to be linear, set out in stone, wherein choices and decisions have no bearing on how things turn out.

That is bollocks.

The decision you make in the next five minutes can influence your future and you combine that with the decisions being made by the people around you (coupled with chance and accident) and those you interact with and those you don't, shows how totally unpredictable the future actually is.

I'm a tarot reader who has studied the cards for 30 years, and works off the prescribed meaning designated for each card and where it falls in a reading. That is what I've studied and practised.

I read for myself on a regular basis and I make no claims for reading for others. All I can say is that in my experience the Tarot can provide a snapshot of what's going on in your life at the time the reading takes place, and can help you look at things from a different perspective. It can also (to some extent) suggest outcomes based upon the decisions you make. For me it has been immensely reassuring and beneficial but in the same way as yoga, or hiking, or exercise or meditation might be and there is nothing 'woo' about it.

Honest answer Rosie is I don't know.

I'm the biggest sceptic there is but I find the Tarot really helpful in my life in the same way people do yoga, or running or meditation, or even just chilling and listening to music.

It could well be a complete load of bollocks. It could well be positive bias, it could well be wishful thinking. But I find it helpful.

I don't make any claims for it other than it helps me. I don't charge anyone for readings, I don't make things up, I don't claim to have any psychic powers (on the contrary) but what I do know is if I'm got something going on in my life, the tarot has an uncanny ability to capture that, and give me food for thought.

Carl Jung's theory of synchronicity is the nearest thing that I can find to explain how the Tarot might work and that is based on the premise that your choice of card might not be as random as you think, but other that that I've got no idea how or why it might work.

I find it helpful. I use it. I have no plans to stop using it in my life in the same way I won't give up putting moisturiser on my face at night or going for a daily walk.

What else can I say? I can only go on my own experience. I'm not on here to argue the case for the Tarot. I only came on here because the two posters were asking for readings.

@SerenTarot you are the genuine article, I can tell from how you answered the previous post. Completely open and honest and unpretentious. Something tells me the tarot probably respects you as much as you do the cards. Admirable perspective! 🔮 😉

i usually get readings done every few years but don’t have the disposable income for this anymore unfortunately.
