Do butterflies mean anything?

I'm not sure why this keeps coming into my mind but when I was about 8 and a half months pregnant with my DD I noticed a butterfly on the ceiling just outside my bedroom door. It stayed there for a couple of weeks and when my daughter was 3 days old it disappeared. I haven't seen that kind of butterfly since then almost two years ago.
Do butterflies carry a meaning or was it just a random coincidence?

It was a random coincidence.

They mean caterpillars metamorphosed.

Some people associate them with a passing of a loved one.

They mean summer is coming

Yea I beleive they do.
My dog died a few years ago. A few days before he died I was taking a walk and I saw a beautiful Black and Tan butterfly (same colour as my dog) I took a photo of it.
When my dog died a black and tan butterfly appeared on one of the beams in my living room. It stayed for what I think was about a week and then flew away.
Such a beautiful way to say goodbye to me 😇

I do not believe in many whoo things but there is something about butterflies which I feel is significant.

A friend lost her Mum a few years ago, and the Mum had a 'butterfly list' a bit like a bucket list, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Anyway heading home in on the train to London after the funeral, I saw a huge red/ orange butterfly on the train carriage. I let it out the window and didn't think much more than 'coincidence'. But low and behold when I got home, a similar colour butter fly (slightly smaller) was on my front door!

I do not yet know the significance of this, I knew the Mum but wasn't overly close to her, but I feel it was something deeper reaching out to me. I haven't seen such bright butterflies in the city before or since this day. Daffodil
