Awful dream

I always dream about houses . Big rambling weird lay out houses .

But I woke up screaming yesterday. My step father was an abusive animal. Horrible man . Biut i dreamt about a rambling old house - nothing new there . Except I opened a bedroom door to find him hanging. My screams woke me up .
What the fuck does this mean ?

Houses in dreams are said to represent yourself, so the fact that your houses are rambling, with unexplored areas and rooms just means that you have many different facets and maybe a few areas of your consciousness that you generally prefer to avoid. So opening a door and finding an unpleasant person in your life hanging is a reflection of one of the darker areas of your subconscious. It doesn't actually means you wish him dead.

I once saw a therapist who described my ex as "lovely, but a one room person" and said that I had spent years looking around the room for other doors to open, and there weren't any. I shared this with my sister and she could immediately see our father as a multi-roomed person, but every door apart from the small entrance hall were tightly locked. So the fact that you are opening doors is positive and that ultimately you are accepting of your feelings.
