Savernake forest & the missing 411 phenomenon...

This is partially lighthearted but I'm still scared

However I follow a YouTuber called Mr. Ballen. He's an ex-Navy SEAL in the US that now tells tales that are 'dark, strange and mysterious in story format'.

I recommend following him if you like such things.

Anyway...he has drawn attention to the 'Missing 411 phenomenon' where lots and lots of people have gone missing in National Parks and forests in North America in very weird circumstances.

Some of them turn up again a long way away from where they went missing with either no memories or very weird memories of dark creatures / shadow men / sinister forest dwelling things. Some are never found. Some are found years later having been partially eaten.

It really made me think of the Savernake forest story that was told on here.

If you 'liked' the Savernake forest story then I'd recommend looking into the missing 411 stories...

The link below is to an introduction with 5 of the stories by the guy I follow but there is an ex-Detective called David Paulides who has spent 10,000+ hours investigating these cases and he has his own channel plus two documentaries which I haven't seen yet...

The Savernake story seemed believable and scary but this guy just looks like a con man crackpot. Sorry!

Have you watched any of them?

He's actually a very good storyteller.

They're not his stories anyway, they're taken from books by David Paulides the ex-detective who investigates them.

I've read the savernake forest story and I really don't see what all the fuss is about. I've read things a hundred times better

PurpleRobe · 01/04/2021 22:43

I have come across a documentary on Amazon Prime Video, Missing 411: the hunted.

It’s a really good documentary, well put together and doesn’t run out of steam. I would definitely recommend.

Ooh I'm a big fan of Mr. Ballen. And there is a 'missing 411' sub on Reddit too if you're interested in hearing people's first-hand accounts on there of weird occurrences in the Forests of (mainly) the US.
A bit off-topic but if you really want to scare yourself, then watch YouTube channel Nuke's top 5. It's mostly ghosts caught on camera. Many are clearly fake (but still scary!) but some really seem legit.

Oh ffs. I live v near savernake and it’s not spooky or weird. It’s just a forest full of dog walkers and bike riders.
