I dream of the future

Ever since I was little I've always dreamed little snippets of the future mostly I don't remember the dream until its happened . but sometime I have a vague idea of the place I'm in and a few seconds later it comes true what I've done or l am about to do and remember

The first time I can remember was when I fell down the stairs after playing on the landing and falling off the Bannister .
I was taken away by ambulance and whilst waiting at the bottom of the stairs I remember flying out of the front door as if I was floating on my back . it was me being carried out on the stretcher .
the next time was on holiday dreaming I was playing on a slide with my sister she cut her leg open on the slide .
it wasn't a slide it was a shoot used to get beer crates to a beach bar my sister jumped on and it was at that point I remembered what it was I shouted to her tried to stop her but it was too late .
she got to the bottom she caught her leg on the side bit of wood and ended up in hospital getting stitched back up .

I also have very mundane dreams about work and doing thing and just before I do something like opening a cupboard I know what's inside even in a place I've never worked in before

Its never really bothered me and I just get on with life knowing its all pre planned and whatever you do it your path is fixed

recently I had a dream my daughter had died .

I sleep very little now not knowing if or when it will happen .

My friend talked me into going to a psychic once. She made all sorts of predictions and then said 'these things will only happen if you allow them to' or something similar. She had predicted that there could be a 'change' in my life. Depending upon which way I went I could meet a man, have two children (two sons apparently and she even told me what the future DH and DSs would look like) and live a happy family type life. A few months later I was offered a job which I took and then I started traveling more and eventually moved to be closer to work. Never met any man who matched future DH description or anyone that I was attracted to for marriage. A couple years later I went back to the psychic and she said I had missed my chance and now the future DH and DSs were no longer an option for me because I had made a different choice. Confused Not sure what choice I should have made in order to meet future DH and create DSs? So according to her your destiny is not fixed but can change depending upon your choices. I'm not sure what I believe though.

I don't believe you've had a premonition your child will die, I think you've had a dream your child dies as it's the thing you most fear, especially with the way things are that moment. I don't think anything is predetermined. We all have free will and choice. I've had a few thoughts pop into my head that have come true, but also lots that haven't. Please don't sit around worrying that will happen as it'll be no good for your dc to think something's wrong if your mind is else where.

I get the future echoes too (one of them was so unexpected in its set-up that I told loads of people and wrote it down, so when it actually happened - background story was that a friend had stopped coming to school for a bit - I knew it was real and not my mind playing tricks; most of them are less definite and just fleeting impressions).

I explain it to myself by thinking of time as a plate of hollow spaghetti - we experience it going along linearly as if we're inside the tube, but the tube crosses over itself in various places and every now and again we might get a glimpse of the other bits.

I also have the normal ordinary mind-processing dreams. For instance I dreamed about my toddler drowning because I looked away for a second. He's currently upstairs doing his university work. I also as a teenager dreamed about finding my sister in the bath with slit wrists and about someone telling me my dad (mid-fifties) had died of a heart attack. Sister is still very much alive thirty-five years later and dad is in late-stage dementia and likely to die of flu or a uti at some point in the next decade...

I agree with pp that this is your subconscious mind expressing your fear, in the hope that you will deal with it and do your best to avoid it.

@noisehelp
I think the 'psychic' has created a foolproof way of dealing with their 'predictions' that don't come true...
