I'm sorry you're worried. Do you need some help? This is really not the way to go.

They are seeing a counsellor. They’ve had years of depression - just wondering if/when it’s going to end. I’m almost at the end of my tether. They’ve changed schools - nothing much has improved. I’m at a loss as to what else to do. Thank you

Seek some help for yourself OP maybe see a councillor and talk through your feelings it is absolutely hellish watching your child suffer and the feelings of helplessness that come with it. Just remember if you go down the ship goes down. Strength and love from one mother to another 💐

OP, I feel for you and understand what you're going through as my DC have similar MH issues and it's shit to watch them go through that,

My personal opinion is that you're barking up the wrong tree with the psychic. By viewing your DC's MH issues as a cloud that will one day spontaneously disappear (and it seems to be when this will happen that you'd like a psychic to confirm), you might be missing opportunities to help your DC with their MH (i.e. if you're desperately waiting for it to 'lift' on its own).

IME, overcoming MH issues takes a lot of work and patience on the part of the child and their family, and I think if you can take more ownership in finding a solution (and it will be a long haul), it might help your DC to do the same. IME depression, anxiety, etc aren't illnesses like getting a cold where you'll wake up one day and feel better. It takes months, sometimes years, of work.

Also, rather than trying to find a psychic to tell you it's all going to be ok, it sounds like that's what your DC needs to hear from you (and for you to believe it when you say it to them).

It will be ok, OP - your DC clearly has a parent who loves them and wants them to get better, so I would ditch the psychics and encourage your DC to take a more active role in their recovery. Personally, I would read around the topic until I find something that resonates, but I'm a bit of a self-help junkie!

Thank you - yes we’ve been doing all of that.

Luckily we have a large family that dc can chat to at any time they want also.

The counselling has been brilliant. The counsellor said something last week that I’ve been saying for ages - but of course I’m only mum so what do I know - not that I said that though. I just said what great advice!

Yes you’re so right that it’s shit!

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hi wondering if anyone has tried hypnotherapy for anxiety/depression.

Someone suggested it as the counselling doesn’t really seem to be getting through to my dc. My dc doesn’t really want to carry on with current counsellor.

I’m also looking at changing counsellor but looking at different options. TIA

Bumping this for a reading please as we have had a very difficult few days.

Dc is again in despair saying no one likes them. If anyone can give me a reading & let me know why no one likes them it would be helpful.

Dc makes friends quite easily but can’t seem to keep them. Is being left out of group chats & it’s so disheartening. Thank you
