Where have I put my birth certificate!? Psychics!?

So I had my birth certifìcate (and my mum's one that was in an envelope) on our dining table...was there for a week or so but have just gone to get it and it's not there. There's other paperwork there but it's not in amongst it and I can't think where on earth it would be. DP hasn't touched anything on table so I don't know!
Anyone psychic!?

Why did you have it there? Did you have it out cos you needed it for something?

TisConfusion · 24/08/2018 20:35

I need them both for Tuesday, I need to take them to the registry office as I have an appointment - getting married next year

Was just thinking... have you put them somewhere ready to take for your appointment? A bag, a folder, something with the rest of your wedding stuff?

How about with other important documents like passports?

Might it have got scooped up with any other paperwork that's about?

silkybear · 24/08/2018 22:08

is it on a mantlepiece? tucked behind something

FlibbertyGiblets · 24/08/2018 22:15

You need to ask St Anthony for help.

Dear St Anthony come around, something's lost and can't be found. Knock three times on your table.
Be sure to say Thank You.

I'm being serious btw.

SadTomorrow · 24/08/2018 22:16

Do you have a drawer of miscellaneous crap?

Touchnotthiscat · 24/08/2018 22:17

Next to and armchair or sofa, near something green.

abbsisspartacus · 24/08/2018 22:18

Mine was in the drawer under my passenger seat in my car I've not a fucking clue why of course I found it after I bought a new one online Hmm

ThisLadysNotForGurning · 24/08/2018 22:22

Question dp again.

In a folder ...wih all the other stuff you need net Tuesday.

In your handbag.

Your mum is looking after it ...coz you left it out.

You posted your mum's birthday cert!

In the paper recycling?

Oh god you didn't bin it did you?!

Actually it's in a green folder, 2nd shelf of the bookcase, between 2 books.

Good luck with the wedding

TisConfusion · 25/08/2018 09:29

Thanks for all your help. I've not found them yet though Sad very upset.

I thought I'd lost mine, and found it yesterday exactly where it should be, but where it wasn't before. Have you looked in its usual place? Perhaps it was accidentally put back there.

TisConfusion · 25/08/2018 10:31

It's not in the usual place Sad DP is taking the children out after lunch and I'm going to thoroughly go through each room in the house one by one. It's making me crazy!

OP posts:
TisConfusion · 25/08/2018 15:11

Still no luck Confused I've had a massive headache all day which isn't helping.

Places my stuff often turns up / has turned up recently:
In bags not used for a long time
In boxes in the attic
In drawers where I've put things to try to be tidy and then forgotten about them
In piles ready for shredding
My mum or DP has moved them
In my work bag
In the glove box of my car

imsorryiasked · 25/08/2018 15:40

Is it in the envelope with your mum's?

TisConfusion · 25/08/2018 15:51

My mum's was in an envelope, mine was underneath the envelope. Both missing! It's literally like they've disappeared! I'm checking absolutely everywhere!

OP posts:
TisConfusion · 25/08/2018 16:40

I give up. They've literally disappeared. I've searched non-stop for hours - last night and today. DP has also helped to look. I've looked everywhere and I'm too stressed out Sad

OP posts:
FlopsVoice · 25/08/2018 16:46

Okay..

Maybe DP is having reservations and is trying to sabotage it Sad

Documents don't have feet

Sorry OP

TisConfusion · 26/08/2018 15:29

I know documents don't have feet but it's really not DP, he's been helping me search through everywhere for them and he knows how upset I am about my mum's one Sad

Assuming you don't have a valid British or EU passport to prove your identity and nationality, then you can order replacement birth certificates for yourself and your mum from the registration service where you were both born. This service is often available on line if you look at the local council websites.
Maybe postpone your notice of marriage appointment for a couple of weeks as there is no rush if you are marrying next year.

imsorryiasked · 26/08/2018 19:23

Could you be looking for the wrong thing? Eg you're looking for say a cream certificate and white envelope, but you've put them in a brown envelope or a blue folder?
