I lived in a flat recently. It never felt right. Always problems with damp, plasterwork anything I would do. Found out a while ago an elderly lady died in the downstairs flat in very unhappy circumstances. I just wonder if it is cognitive dissonance or did the death somehow curse the house?

I live in a flat which I'm so miserable in, it's cold ,damp unfriendly and I can't really make it nice as its rented, having trouble getting out , trying to get a reasonable mortgage, I'm frightened I will never get out.

The housing situation is causing so many mental and emotional problems for people. Do you have any other options like relocating/sharing/moving in with family to save? The rental laws in the UK are a national disgrace. My friend in Dortmund lives in far superior rented accommodation to most Londoners despite being on disability benefit. I hope things work out for you
