How come some woo everyone can see, and sometimes only children?

Probably wasting my time trying to understand it, but just wondering.

I'm considering setting up a video camera in ds room because of footsteps at night when he's in his cot which are heard directly above the lounge, and sometimes he wakes up laughing hysterically as if someone is there (probably not).
But even if it was woo, and I can hear the footsteps, it strikes me as curious that some woo apparently children can see and not adults, but some everyone.

I've had experiences myself before where the other adults present saw exactly the same thing as me. So the thought of my son being able to see someone there that no one else can freaks me out. Someone come and tell me that doesn't happen??

My little boy wakes up laughing all the time, it's freaky sometimes when you're just dropping off, especially when it's a full on belly laugh... But IME babies usually laugh in their sleep (remembering something funny from the day?) and wake themselves up... Cousin used to do it ALL the time :') an our central heating either sounds like a herd of elephants galloping round upstairs, like furniture moving, someone walking upstairs and into my bedroom (where the boiler is) or like someone tapping on the pipes... Very creepy if you're home alone... But on the other hand, if it is ghoulies then when you put ds to bed tell them firmly to leave him alone to sleep... Worked for my aunt... Although hers used to rattle the downstairs banister railing... Good luck! :) x
