Thoroughbred - or not?

We're looking for a horse for dd. What I had in ming was a Welsh section D or something like that. She is 13 and a good rider - she;s competed on other people's horses, she's her riding school's "trouble shooter" for new horses. We've got the offer of a TB, though - what are the pros and cons?

We bought our cob cheapily from an eventing yard in Wales (in H&H) where they were using him to teach beginners. He was 4 then and as you know from the other thread he's been a lovely county show horse/hunter for me so they can be bought.

Recently we've trialled a cob at Lynn Russell's yard and now regret not buying him. She has a great reputation with cobs and has sold on some top horses who were all well schooled. She wouldn't hurt her reputation by selling on bad ones.

No her horses are lovely, I've seen them at shows quite a few times. Out of my league though I'm afraid as her website just says "FROM £4000", no individual prices for horses .
