I have put myself forward to help at the local RDA, just waiting for them to get in touch.

Just wondered if any of you are involved. wanted a bit more info about what I would be doing really.

I used to help out with the RDA years ago. Just used to lead the ponies round or be a helper for the child on board - hanging on to a leg or something if needed. Occassionally I would groom / tack up etc. Used to go to events ie. Gatcombe Horse Trials and help on the stall as well. Had to stop when I got a full time job but really enjoyed it.

Thanks, not sure what sessions they need help with but I am happy to help with tacking up as well as leading.

skramble, the RDAs I've come across are usually really keen to have helpers with horsey experience as quite a lot of their helpers have volunteered to help with the riders and sometimes don't really know much at all about horses. So someone who can help with both is often welcomed with open arms!

my friend does this, carriage driving, it sounds so much fun though I am at how much time it takes to get the ponies ready for this, as opposed to riding

have you heard anything yet?
