Does anyone have a quiet pony they'd like to lend to the RDA near Brighton, term-time only?

I had a note in ds's home-school book yesterday from his teacher as she knows we are 'horsey'. The RDA group that the school uses has lost one of their ponies to 'horsey heaven' and also a couple of others at the stables that they used to be able to borrow have moved away, and the teacher was just asking on the off-chance if I know anyone likely to lend a pony. From what I've seen it just involves being led at a walk and the occasional trot round an indoor school.

I haven't been able to think of anyone at the mo but have started putting the word around people I know so I thought I may as well mention it on here. They haven't been at all specific about what size pony or anything but if anyone is interested it would be easy enough to find out. They are based at Pycombe. Thanks for reading.

No not yet. My sister works at a large veterinary hospital and most of the staff there seem to own various equines so she is going to get them to ask around, and I asked my instructor yesterday to keep an ear open so hopefully something will come up. She did say that the RDA could borrow one of her ponies for odd days if they need to but they'd have to come and collect him as she has no transport. She is already using him to teach two autistic girls from ds's school so he is used to the bouncing, yelling etc that occurs so I will pass on the info but I think they really want a pony on the premises to use every day. As you can imagine they are very popular with SN schools and they are having to turn children away so they need to find something soon.

Sorry, much as we'd like to have our own set of hooves again, we are pony-less.

Good luck though!

Pixel (remember me?) - am sure i know of a pony you could use BUT they would have to pick up/take back. It's at a school not v far from Pyecombe.

Pesto - i know a horse you can ride for free.

Hi Mabs, yes I remember you .
That's interesting, I think I'm going to have to ask if they would be able to collect a pony because that's the second one offered/suggested on that basis. I've only really got the message second-hand from ds's teacher and promised to ask around so maybe I need to get a few more details!
