Suggestions for a horsey birthday gift for a five-year-old girl

Can anyone suggest a lovely horsey birthday gift for a girl turning 5?

She has a pony so it could be something practical for riding or an accessory of some kind. It could be a toy but the tricky thing is I expect she already has lots of little horse figurines (so I’d avoid getting more of the same) but for slightly bigger / more niche gifts I am not sure what she does/ does not have.

Happy to go with a voucher but which shop(s) would be good?

Value I suppose £30-40.

How about a book of Thelwell ponies?

I was going to suggest a horsey day out like one of the afternoon shows at London International Horse Show but then realised your budget wouldn’t cover that. Is there a tack shop near you where you could take her and she could choose something for herself - you could combine it with lunch/an ice cream etc.

A cute base layer and hat silk, with mums input? Or ask the parents which tack shop they use and get her a voucher?

A couple of bales of hay!

For that age I’d probably go down the super fun hat silk route

@Lastqueenofscotland2 i saw these. Looks like the kind of thing you can have lots of and swap them over so it doesn’t matter too much if she already has some.

are they stretchy or do I need to know her helmet size?

My niece ( similar age ) likes anything Lemieux but tbh that’s more toy based , although they do do equestrian accessories.

Subscription to Pony magazine? I think it’s recommended for 6+ but she should
enjoy it if she’s a reasonably confident reader.
