To want to give up riding

Hi.
I have had my pony (who I got from a sanctuary) for 6 years.
I love her to bits and she has seen me through difficult phases of life, split from Ex, Covid, treated her like my best friend. I love her to bits but she can be so moody and stubborn.
I feel like my life has changed recently, have met a new partner which I never thought I would find (5 years single.) The cost has gone up so much and she costs me a lot of money each month as a single parent.
I hate the tie but also love it. I love her and dont know how I could ever send her back to the sanctuary but I feel like its more of a chore than a hobby at the moment.
I just dont know what to do. Give me a pony I can ride once a month and I would be quite happy

Could you put her on loan?

I'd wait a month or so to make any big decisions, horse ownership in winter is always awful.
If you're still thinking about giving up I'd look at getting a sharer/part loaner first and take it from there.

it's a chore for all horse owners at the moment, i'd give it a couple of months, maybe get the new partner interested too?

How would you feel if your bloke dumped you and the sanctuary had settled her in a fantastic new home?
