Anyone else delighted to see a 19-y-o woman win the Puissance class at LIHS today? It's traditionally been a very male-dominated event, so I was really punching my fist in the air to see this. Go Rachel!

Totally agree! We were there last night and there was lots of support for Rachel and also Maisy Williams - both young women. It's great to see new talent and really encouraging to see a female winner. She rode really well so totally deserved it.

Huge congratulations to Rachel! The dominance of men at the highest levels of showjumping is baffling when you consider how massively skewed the sport is towards women/girls all the way down the rest of the pyramid. It can’t just be extra ‘gutsy-ness’ from boys which is one possible reason I’ve heard because women are hugely successful in eventing. Any other theories?

I love the fact women and men of all ages compete equally in equestrian sport right through to Olympic level. The best combination won. I would’ve been equally delighted to see a 70 year old man win.
