Pony camp - anyone else hoping the weather gets a bit warmer?

My dd has pony camp in 2 weeks. Last year it was much warmer than it is this year. 😩

Can anyone recommend some ways that I can make sure she won't be cold at night? My friend said that it's better to take a duvet camping than a sleeping bag (I never camp myself). Last year, I bought her a fishing chair / bed which was great as it kept her off the cold ground.

Definitely a good sleeping bag over a duvet, if a duvet gets damp it’s a nightmare. A really good groundmat makes a real difference

I camp a lot and i hate sleeping bags so always take a duvet

Plus a onesie or oodie!

Make sure she has a woolly hat to wear to bed as that is where a lot of heat escapes .

Thank you for these ideas!

You can get fleecy sleeping bag liners which are really good for keeping warmer

My DD is just back from pony camp and she didn’t report being cold (the first night was torrential and cold)! I honestly think she was so delighted to be there with new friends that she didn’t seem to mind the cold!

In addition to long pyjamas, we packed her a onesie, a 4 season sleeping bag and a decent self inflating mattress. Also a proper pillow. The last few days were glorious for them.

Wishing your DD a wonderful camp - mine loved every minute and now we are navigating post camp blues!

Thank you so much - I think she'll have a great time. We are very lucky that she goes to a lovely yard, where the staff are all kind and supportive.

I'm glad your dd enjoyed herself :))
