Tack 'missing'

So bloody angry. New yard, tack kept in a locked tack room but items are now missing. My bad, should've taken it home with me. Have an idea of where it's gone but no proof. Will be moving yard asap.

It has been happening for years - people "borrow" and never return - leaving you without specific items. Stirrups, girths, bits - incredible how they just disappear and no one knows where they are. We used to have the police come round to postcode all the tack free of charge many years ago - this definitely helped!

Police will be informed tomorrow. Horsey people are some of the most dishonest I've ever come across. A girth doesn't just fall off a saddle.Am insured, if that will make any difference.

Doesn't happen at the yards I've been at. No one just steals other people's tack. The yard owner would go mad. Have you told the yard owner/manager?

Yes but pretty sure it's them that's taken it.Things have been 'borrowed' before but always turned up when mentioned. Everything coming home with me in future.Have never been on a yard before, had own land before divorce, so it's a learning curve.

That's so unsettling . If things do come back safely I would ask for a sign or message to be shared saying please don't borrow tack or belongings without checking as that might be enough .

We've been at two yards and no problems at all .
