Lemieux Loire long riding coat or Equicoat Pro

very lucky to be choosing between such expensive coat but after years of the horse being warmer and looking better than me and even though I’m in my mid 40s my lovely Dad says he’ll buy me a long waterproof coat. Which should I go for? I much prefer the look of the Lemieux but haven’t tried them on. I do have very wide hips and fear it might be too straight up and down in comparison to the equicoat 🤷‍♀️

Having looked at both coats, I personally prefer the way that the Loire is more tailored.

I have a big bottom, but I would rather go up a size and have the tailored one. (my dream coat is the Jack Murphy Erin). The Equicoat Pro reminds me of the Equidry which is like wearing a giant bag and I didn't like the one I tried on. Having said that, many people love them, so it is personal preference. If you like a closer, tailored fit, go for the Loire, if you like a looser, baggier fit, then the Equicoat. 🙂

I wouldn’t give Lemieux the money, having had previous poor customer experience with a faulty product. The Stierna Stella though - ridden through 2 winters in horrendous weather in mine, and it still looks fab. I’ve got the jacket, and DD has the long coat. They also do a mid length coat. Warmer and dryer than my ski jacket! And very smart.
