Horseriding clothing for slender 8yo

DD(8) is average height but extremely slender. The only trousers I've ever found that vaguely fit are H&M leggings and skinny jeans with adjustable waists, and even they're baggy on her legs.

She's been riding a few months and absolutely loves it. So far she's just been wearing old leggings and t-shirt/fleece when cooler but it feels like time to get her properly kitted out. I did get her one second hand pair of jodhpurs but they fall off her. Are there any brands I can look for that are particularly slim fitting? I'd be particularly grateful for recommendations for winter riding gear she really feels the cold.

Thank you.

Lots of the legging style jods are very slim fitting. I’d take her to a tack shop and try stuff on.

Decathlon are very slim fitting, my kids have Aztec Diamond which are also very slim fitting - look for riding tights instead of jodphurs.

I agree that Decathlon clothes are slim fitting.

Thanks a lot for the tips, I'll look at those.

Decathalon also suited my slim and tallish 9 year old!

Agree with decathlon but I'd also say it's more important to get the fit right on the waist, bum and thighs than on length. Most kids will either be wearing long boots or jod boots with long socks so doesn't really matter if they are too short in the leg.

Aztec diamond were still baggy on mine at that age.
I'd suggest just going to a tack shop and trying different styles, brands and materials on as even within a brand there are huge variations. Fleeces are totally fine and q good choice for cooler days. Also some merino base layers are always useful.
You can get fleece lined breeches for winter if she feels the cold too 😊

My 9 year old is the same. We had a warm pair of jods from decathlon which had adjustable waist, and she likes aubrion leggings all year round now
