Looking for some ideas...

I'm soon starting the process of making 2 stables in the barn my ponies use as a field shelter. They won't take the whole space but I would like some type of matting that means I don't lose my bedding to the mud of winter.
Rubbing matting prices are expensive, and I'd like to look at alternatives, I was wondering what people have down?
Thanks

I have strips of conveyor belting in front of my field shelters - get it second hand from local farm machinery auction. It's not particularly wide but a hell of a lot cheaper than proper stable matting. Getting hold of it might be a problem though - its just pure luck that i can access this auction and they do have some in occasionally,

Rubber matting for cattle might be cheaper
