Help!! ... the lovely mare I bought just before Christmas has just come into season and now I have 550kg of raging, biting hormones to deal with!! Someone has suggested I try her on one of the many supplements which are available to help mares with their seasons, but I've done a bit of research and the choice is confusing and endless. Anyone recommend one that they've tried and helps please. All ideas gratefully received. Thank you in advance .....

I would wait until you see what she is like when in season next time. I have often found mares to be very temperamental when the first come into season in the spring and then settle down for the rest of the year

Personally I’d let her ride this one out too and see how she is next time. I’ve had my mare about 8 years, her first season I just leave her be, after that she’s fine (other than being a bit of a tart). If she’s awful for her next one I’d start with oestress and work up from there 🙈

I have mine on chaste berry powder (agnus castus) which is the active ingredient in supplements such as Oestress etc.
I had a raging mare last year, this year she has been much calmer so far after 6 weeks on it.

I use Premier performance Sassy mare plus, she's so much happier since she's been on it.
