Riding and bleed 14 weeks

I had to go to A&E this week as I woke up with bleeding at 14 weeks, not a ridiculous amount but enough to think ‘oh sh*t’.

Anyway, all is fine thank goodness, but there is some debate as to if it was caused by a low lying placenta. One HCP said that probably was the cause and it is slightly over the entrance to the cervix, another said it’s normal for my stage, nothing to worry about and the bleed was just one of those things and that you can’t diagnose LLP until 20 weeks anyway.

I now have DH and other family members urging me to pack in riding. I have asked Midwife for advice but she was very wishy washy and didn’t really say anything. I asked to check with the doctor in the midwifery unit and he said if I ride regularly without issues it is very unlikely to be related and fine to continue and they will reassess at 20 week scan.

I can see my husband is worried and thinks I should stop riding. What should I do?? I really would like to keep going as long as I can...obviously not at the detriment of mine or little ones health though. My mental health however is significantly hit if I can’t ride!

I don’t think anyone can make this decision for you tbh. I rode to 7 months with my first and was comfortable with that. When I got pregnant with my second, however, I just didn’t feel comfortable continuing to ride. It’s a very personal decision.

I would stop, mostly because you've already had a scare. It could be nothing to do with riding but if something did happen you'd blame yourself and that would be awful. It sucks the amount of things we give up to be pregnant (all I wanted was soft cheese) but the wee baby is worth it.

I rode to 5/6 months with my first and all fine until started to feel my core wasn’t very effective and getting uncomfortable , but didn’t have any bleeding etc first time round...

I had a low lying placenta with my last baby and it was easily irritated (if that's the right word).
