Riding hat with adjustable dial

Hi, my daughter needs a new riding helmet. We have no equestrian shops nearby and I don’t want to travel far to one at the moment. So despite all the advice I’ve found when searching MN, I have to buy online.

Her current hat is size 56 and she says it feels tight (only got it at Christmas!).

I’m searching for an adjustable one as it might be easier to get a good fit when buying online, don’t want to spend a fortune.

So 1) can you recommend one?

And 2) how much do you spend on hats for kids (age 8) going to pony club?

I think the Whittaker ones are adjustable by 2/3cm and they are smart but a bit different. You should be able to get one for under £100

Does she prefer skull caps where she can pick her own silk or a smarter/more modern fixed peak?

Re price, while I’d probably not be buying a £500 KASK or Sam Sheild I really don’t think you can put a price on safety...

I got this one

I think it meets Pony Club standards but best to check with your DC before buying.

And basically, spend whatever you have to to ensure a good fit - that doesn’t necessarily mean the most expensive hat but it’s one are where you definitely don’t want to skimp on

Actually if she’s doing Pony Club and they’re ever likely to do even tiny XC jumps then she will need a skull cap rather than a fixed peak one

I've got a Champion Air-Tech which is adjustable. I use it for everyday schooling and it's really comfortable. Think it was about £120, bought it earlier in the year.

I have a Charles Owen skull cap for hacking though, as don't like a fixed peak for this.
