We bought some yesterday and they are rubbing, any tips to soften/stretch the boots?

Ah new boot pain, I feel you. All sorts of suggestions out there, some of which are probably old wives tales mainly based on rubbing things into the leather, vaseline, (diluted) rubbing alcohol, saddle soap are ones I hear quite frequently. I always get a bit nervous with expensive leather and too many chemicals though. I have also heard that you should try and wear them in the morning as your feet swell during the daytime so more likely to rub, which might help depending on where they're rubbing?

To be honest I find the best thing is just wear them as much as possible, around the house to start with when they are really stiff, then walking and as soon as you can bear it, to ride in. Despite the pain, you really need the leather to sag slightly but gently and fitted to the contours of your feet/legs which is a slow process built up by time spent on your feet...
