Random one... Horse books from your childhood!!

I used to love horsey books... Read the Saddle Club, Jinny books, The Silver Brumby etc,but there is one I cannot remember the name of and have googled to no avail.

Basically the girl found a horse in a field by her house, and bought him off the farmer in exchange for her mums Pyrex dish and a paisley scarf!! Those are the only details which stuck in my mind, anyone remember it??!

The Jill books - the horse was called Black Boy

I read a book about two horses called magic and moonshine. Think it was about 2 girls who went to live with a farmer and he owned the horses
