Hi all,

So I’m ttc, and just after some people’s opinions on riding when pregnant.

A little background; I routinely ride two horses. 1 is a welsh cob...only walks and trots...a bloody gem out hacking but can tit about in the school, however has never ever got me off. (Touches wood) 2nd is a warmblood youngster who belongs to me. He is an angel in the school in walk and trot but we are still training canter so that can be risky. Hacking is interesting haha!!!

Just after general opinions really as I’m undecided as to what to do...both horses also belong to me x

I stopped jumping at 11 weeks but carried on cantering until I stopped riding at 22 weeks. I would have carried on but I couldn't, it was starting to give me back ache Sad

I stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant. My horse is a green youngster and it’s just not worth the risk imo.

The downside is he’s just out in the field now getting fatSad

I'm planning on stopping jumping in the next month. I want to carry on riding as long as possible but I'm lucky that I have a friend who will ride them for me through the winter as she doesn't have her own. Mine are very sensible cobs, can drag out of the field after 3 weeks and not much different to normal. At 8 weeks now I'm definitely more cautious and I think I'll know when to stop cantering etc as I just won't feel happy in my head
