What would you expect to pay for a horse like this?

Between 14.2 and 15.2. Been there done it. Competing consistently clear at 90cm. Done lots of competing and riding club. Kind nature. Around 11 years old.

This is my wish list

I'd say about 5,000. Possibly up to 6,000. We paid more for a schoolmaster who was proven up to a metre. Have a look on Horsequest - lots of suitable animals under "all rounders" there if you're not looking for something too smart (ie for working hunter..)

Thanks. I've found one that's proven at 1m 90 eventing and ticks all my boxes but is 8k with full wardrobe. Not sure whether that's too £££

That makes me feel a bit better. We'd potentially have him for 5 years at least so if he's decent he will be worth the money.

£8k sounds about right to me.

8k seems a bit steep but I have only ever had thoroughbreds who are only ever worth about £3k unless they are eventing super stars! My last buy was bombproof, the most mannerly horse out hunting, hacked alone and in company, XC machine, would nanny a novice round a little course and scopy enough for BS... You'd stuck your granny on him and ride down the m6 and he'd not bat an eyelid £1500...

But if you are going for something a bit less undesirable I'd say around 6ish

I think that price is ballpark.
I would also have a close look at "full wardrobe) and see what it entails - if it has any value or not.
Having just been through this process , I am not surprised at that price

You've just described my horse! I paid £4k for him before he had a competition record, and was just a well put together 9 year old 14.2 Welsh cob hunter. He now does BE90 successfully, and I'd like to think he's worth more like £5-6k. If he wasn't Welsh and had a bit more quality (e.g. TBx or sports horse/pony breeding) then perhaps he would be worth a bit more than that?
