My poor sister is having her much loved first horse put down tomorrow.
She is looking at maybe getting a ring made with some of his horsehair. Has anyone had anything made? Any recommendations of websites?

Not rings, but she does bracelets or keyrings...I'm sure she'd be be happy to do what you wanted as a lot of her pieces are customer requests (she's a friend of mine)
Gillirina if you look in the album with the timeline photos you'll get to some horsehair ones - they're all from a customer's horse, they post them to her and she makes them.

Thanks tabula. I think she fancied a ring as she could wear it every day.

What I meant was...I haven't seen her do a ring with horsehair, but if you like her stuff it would be worth asking her as she makes to order.
Obviously if you don't then I'm sure people will give you other suggestions anyway

I had this made when I sold my last horse, it was his first ever shoe. I had my wedding rings tied to it as well for our wedding so it's now extra special.
I've found people that have had horse hair items made are lovely but not at all hard wearing so they don't last.

Thanks. I think she wants a braided ring set in silver.

Tweed that's lovely. We are looking at shoe ideas too!

I am looking at necklaces and bangles now. May be drink involved!

When I lost my old pony, my friends had a bracelet made by a company called "Tail end jewellery". I've just looked and they do rings too, in fact, I'm tempted to get one made for Christmas...
I must admit, I don't wear my bracelet much, as I'm worried about it breaking!
