I can't manage any more. The baby takes up so much time, they're trying to decide if I'm diabetic, I feel horrible all the time and the rest of the family are no help. I'm posting here on the off chance.
I have 3 ponies. 1 is a lovely Welsh a mare, she's a Pendock Legend daughter, she's about 20 but healthy and lively. she can go on loan in the Essex area as a companion or would easily come back into work. she's been out for a couple of years but was always a brilliant lead rein or second pony.
There are also 2 youngsters. 1 is the old mares son, so a Legend grandson, he'll turn 4 in the new year. Hes a smallidh chap, about 11 hands id say. His sire is pretty well known too. He is gelded and he's unbroken but a little sweetheart. He was going to be for the baby when she is older. Sad
And there's the young mare. She is a Shetland cross gypsy cob. she will also turn 4 in the new year. She is a really pretty piebald, with a very unusual black face and white mane. She moves nicely and is a sweet little thing. They've not been handled a lot so she is a bit shy, but she also has a sweet nature. She is very solid, about 12 hands but would be a proper weight carrier. She could be a childs pony but would suit anyone up to about 10 stone with absolute ease.
They are all gorgeous, we had big plans for DO to break them and the baby to ride them, I just can't cope with them any more. they've been stood in a field for months just being damp and glum. its the pits but they deserve to have a good life.
I'd like something for the youngsters but ill take offers really. A good home is more important. Sad Sad

Sorry to hear this :-( are you sure though? would you maybe feel better in the spring when baby is a bit bigger, your feeling better and lighter evenings might mean your older DD would do more with them? etc

I'm going to be looking in the spring for a small welsh a for my DD but I'm sure you'll find a good home for yours before then if that's what you really decide is for the best.

nope. they've got to go. They are getting nowhere, the field is already waterlogged, dd has no interest whatsoever and the fences are shot.
Each time the phone rings I panic and going down and repairing fences leaves me utterly exhausted.
they're on Gumtree and h&h and horse mart and pre loved. fingers crossed.

Oh Saggy what a shame, your ponies are lovely Sad.

OscarWinningActress · 29/11/2014 22:51

Saggy, the ponies are beautiful! I'm sorry you're having a tough time at the moment:) My third kid was almost the death of me...the lack of sleep made everything feel grim. Is there a riding school local to you? Any chance they might be interested in taking on your gang? Use them in the school and get a few keen youngsters to get a bit of training into the babies?
If not, please don't feel that things are hopeless! It's a horrible time of year and you've got a very young child. What's the deal with the fences? Are they really beyond hope? Any chance they could be professionally repaired or replaced to give you some time and peace of mind?

my landlord has just done a lot of fencing work. But the ground is so wet the posts just fall over or snap off. The little blighters are sods for scratching on them and taking the rails down. They have no respect for electrics either! comes from having huge native coats!
