Two months ago i rescued a little dartmoor filly (she is now 10 months) and she was almost wild and petrified of everything when she came. Since she has been with me I have just been spending time with her and gaining her trust. She now let's us put her head collar on and off in the field, will come to call and will stand nicely to be groomed.
Today I tied her up to be groomed (my other two horses were also tied up and their loaners were grooming and chatting) and whilst brushing the mud off her face she started rubbing my bump (27 weeks PG) and snuggling her face up against it. I then sat down next to her to hunt through my grooming bag for another brush and she leaned down to sniff my head and then just sat down next to me whilst she was still tied up!Grin We had a nice cuddle for ages and she had her head in my lap snuggled up against my belly, It was one of the most amazing experiences ever and made me so proud of how far she has come in such a short space of time Smile.
I'm still buzzing so I had to share and would love to hear of other people's special moments they have had with their horses/ponies
