I have been riding today for the first time in about 8 years.I cantered and EVERYTHNG! I still have a huge grin on my face and am absolutely buzzing :)

My D (6) started having lessons in January and I have been so bloody jealous that in May I decided to do something about it so I joined SW and lost 3.5 stone so I could ride again............ I want to buy a horse!! Grin

Oh, it's great, isn't it? I just started again last month after a massive break and it's just absolutely brilliant Grin I also cantered on my first lesson - though not intentionally! The horse I've been riding up until today is a bit lazy and takes quite a bit of firm encouragement to get moving and can then get a bit carried away. Great fun, though, and lovely that you have a hobby to share with dc.

Well done on the weight loss and also having the guts to go back - it's easy to put it off, isn't it? I also want a horse, so I know how you feel - addictive, isn't it?

Congratulations. So great that you wanted it so much to lose the weight and get back in the saddle.

We tend to forget the things we enjoy as mothers, and instead encourage our children to have hobbies and activities. We shouldn't. It does us the world of good to do things that we enjoy. Don't forget this feeling. Bottle it for the hard times.

I'd love to go back horse-riding again (I rode from age 11 to 30 ) but I am not brave enough.
Too big a risk of injury ( dodgy back unfortunately)

DD has no interest in horse-riding Sad
