Would like to find a nice little introductory show. Where would I look ? We're new to all this. Any help or guidance appreciated ?

Riding diary. Com or local riding club website?

We're so lucky in the East to have www.horsedates.co.uk which is a brilliant resource. Ask around to see if there is a similar website in your area. They may advertise in your local equestrian magazine - which are usually found in good tack shops (often free!).

Have a look at local riding club websites if you know of any. Also this time of the year most shows will be indoors so have a look at the upcoming events at local equestrian centres.

Good luck.

A lot of centres seem to have closed or reduced their show dates round here in recent years, and not all of them advertise on the Riding Diary any more, which is irritating. I find it easiest to do a regular check direct on their websites, and ones I would look at include:

Hall Place
Checkendon EC
Wellington
Enborne EC
Malthouse
Sparsholt
Merrist Wood
Snowball Farm
Cullinghood EC

Also look at riding club websites for:

Berkshire County RC
Thames Valley RC
High Wycombe RC
Berkshire Downs RC
South Oxfordshire RC
Winchester RC

And that little lot should keep you going for a while!

Our local horsey/country shops always seem to have show schedules by the tills.
