prettty please....

Im going to ask DH to get me a couple of books for christmas, but there are literally loads on amazon and ive no idea how to pick the best, so i wondered if anyone could recommend to me any they have found particularly useful.

Im very much a beginner but i need to learn all the basics of horse care and stable management with a view to eventually owning my own pony.

im having the time of my life learning to ride, but i need to learn all about the other things, stable management, feeds, general care, when to call a vet, horsey ailments, all that kind of stuff.

im a bit overwhelmed with the amount of reading material on amazon and some is clearly aimed at the american market....

any recommendations would be gratefully received!
thank you.

I've got soooo many, you'd be welcome to them all if you could come and help yourself!

think you could do a lot worse than the BHS manuals, they'd come in handy if you decided to do a course, starting with stage one?

BHS manuals and the pony club manual of horsemanship, plus a subscription to Your Horse or Horse and Rider so you get the more up to date things on worming, feeding etc

funny you should say that, ive put the BHS complete manual of Horse and Stable management in the wish list, along with the pony club one. Smile

The Pony Club 'Keeping a pony at grass' is always a good basic one (also applies to hairy horses Xmas Grin).

I've got several copies of the manual of horsemanship if you'd like one, just pm me your address. Xx
