I know its prob very silly to be so proud but i dont really care ! I went to pick dd up from the pony club(riding school center and where we keep DP) and saw she had mucked out her pony i could not believe my eyes she had filled a wheelbarrow with all the dirty straw and had even thrown up the clean straw onto the bankings like i had shown her and was about to put the fresh bedding in the middle x x her big hugs baby girl xxxxxxx

Very good that's proper hard work for u. Right to b proud! Glad she's learning to look after her pony so well. Deserves a good hack out for that!

Well done x

Bless her

My ds loves doing stables - his pony lives out though, so he doesn't get to do them !

Brilliant, shows she is growing up and has had a good teacher.

I told dd (just 8), to go and get the headcollar and I would meet her at the gate up the track today, as she wanted to ride, I am hobbling about, having slipped a disc over a week ago, so was just hoping I would be able to manage help get her pony ready.

By the time I got up to the field, she was coming out, had managed to get the headcollar on (not easy as she isn't tall) and do the locks on the gates and was leading back to the yard.

Great to see the confidence growing isn't it.

Aww OP that is so cute, and you have every reason to be proud. Reminds me of when I was a pony-mad girl a long time ago..... [wistful]

It's wonderful when you see them really embracing and understanding what it takes to have a pony and it's not just all about the riding.
My 7 year old dd did my proud when she explained to a friend that all the yard jobs need to be done before ridding and as at that point dpony had not long arrived with us she was only going to have a short ride as dpony's needs where more important then what she would like to do.
Proud I was and pleased that what I have tried to teach her has sunk in.
