Does anyone know which channel I can watch the equestrian events on?

I've started a thread in the London2012 section for the Eventing, which is now underway.

Thread here

It is being live streamed on the BBC website but I don't think it is on television - unless it's on one of those fancy Olympic channels you can only get on Sky!

FannyPriceless · 28/07/2012 11:13

I currently have the iPad plugged into the tv live streaming, following the panic this morning when I couldn't find it anywhere on the red button. Or possibly I just can't work the red button.Confused

FrankelSaysRelax · 28/07/2012 11:19

It's only available on the red button if you have Sky.

Bamaluz · 28/07/2012 19:25

It's on channel 579 on cable.

Alameda · 28/07/2012 20:28

my freesat thing (which is definitely not sky, it's like freeview but through a satellite dish?) has sprouted loads, maybe a dozen or more, of olympic channels without anyone even noticing until today

Butkin · 29/07/2012 11:16

We've got Sky and if you go through the HD (possibly normal as well) channels towards the end there are about 20 special BBC channels which are dedicated to showing live coverage. The Dressage was on for 4 hours yesterday and started already this morning.

I missed William Fox Pitt Sad

Sue Barker promised he would be on around 5.20pm on BBC1 - rearranged my entire day - and came back for her only to announce that "it was on the red button"

Well watching from Belgium so no red button Sad

Pretty upset that BBC mainstream coverage so minimal. Surely there are more horse-riders in GB than archers or slalom canoeists???? Angry

EcoLady · 29/07/2012 19:46

I've been disappointed by the mainstream coverage - even the 'text updates' on the BBC website seem to have ignored the dressage and there is no mention of it in the Headlines.

Some useful direct links for updates on social networks:
news
twitter
facebook

Sky channels start on 451 upwards.

Oh... nearly forgot ... Team GB Equestrian's blog

LucyLui25 · 29/07/2012 20:11

Yes it's all online, also if you look on the Olympic website you have all the bib start times for every competitor. I think they usually show the final event- show jumping on the tv, as we know who will get what medals by then. Coverage has been very good, and I have been able to dip in and out dependent of what time GB are competing. Let's hope it continues

FrankelSaysRelax · 29/07/2012 20:21

If you follow Alice Plunkett on Twitter (@aliceplunkett) you'll get lots of behind the scenes info. She posted this photo earlier.

Great to have all those links and that info everyone - thank you!!

And today - all is forgiven BBC!!! Smile Overall I thought the mainstream coverage was pretty good. Had to switch around from Beeb One to Two to Three a bit but I felt they coped well with delays and generally stuck with it. Plus added in a few interesting extras ...

Have spent hours glued to the telly Grin Absolutely loved every minute!!

Well done team GB and crikey - what a phenomenal ride from Toddy aged 56!!

Will be on tenterhooks tomorrow ....
