We have the opportunity to loan a pony for dd, we are meeting the owner this comingweek. It is at the stables dd volunteers at and would stay there and be ridden by others in lessons. It is a good size for dd and she can handle him well. What sort of questions should we be asking? we've never done this before.

If I dont reply for a couple of days its cos I'll be away and not sure if I'll have internet access, but I will come back here as soon as I can!

The Pony Club centres are approved riding schools, and they offer massively discounted rates for PC members, have 'your own pony' days, offer all the PC achievement badges (which get particularly rigorous at the higher levels,) run competitions for their members and generally do all the things the main PC does, but without the need for the regular commitment of ownership. My friend's daughter definitely enjoys going to hers.

It sounds ideal! We are going to give them a call and if it sounds ok take dd along to visit it :)
Just been cleaning dds room before she gets back and I realised how much of it is horse stuff - its everywhere!

Really pleased you've found somewhere. Smile

Just to update, before I'd even finished explaining the situation about the horse to dd she was telling me it wouldn't work and why. Phew! And she's happy to look at plan b. very relieved :)
