Hunter Wellies, John Adams or Dublin river boots?.

I will confess to not having a horse first, but live in very horsey area and see lots of the locals out walking in their boots , they look bloody comfy too.
I know you get what you pay for and it's for dog walking only, sick of cold wet feet, sodden socks and trousers.
So, which would you recommend? Have seen the boots around 90-100 and Wellies for 60.
I bought cheap Wellies and they leaked so not going waste my again.
Anyone?

River boots!!!! Had mine 18mths wear them
Everyday for riding/mucking out etc and dog walking!! Will buy another pair when they wear out plus they're so much warmer than wellies!!

Do not buy Hunters, they are appalling quality.I've had 2 pairs, the first lasted 12 months, the second laster 15 months,I won't ever bother with them again.I've heard good things about muck boots though.

I have MuckBoots, warm, cosy and don't come off in the mud!

Muck boots - they are so cosy and totally waterproof. I love mine. Not stylish, but your feet will thank you

Butkin · 27/04/2012 11:40

Agree with the above and avoid Hunters - very poor quality. If splashing out on wellies go for Le Chameaus with neoprene lining Smile

Muckboots are very comfy for walking in. I've had mine for a few years now and recommend them to everyone Grin

Another vote for muck boots. All 3 of us have them and love them.

coansha · 27/04/2012 12:58

I like Aigle wellies :-)

Hunters are now awful quality, our local farm shop refuses to stock them. They do Barbour wellies now which look good.

coansha · 27/04/2012 17:08

I have just ordered my muck boots, went with derwent in black, thanks all or your info.

I've got a pair of Barbour wellies, having given up on Hunters due to poor quality these days. The Barbours are great, but you need thick socks as they are not lined (though I think they come in a lined version).

Muck boots here too

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/04/2012 16:29

Good choice, they'll last you for years and you'll want to wear them all the time. Now go and splash in some puddles.
