Hired transport - how much does it cost for small pony to/from shows?

Considering buying DD a pony in the near future and thinking about costs. We have nowhere to store a trailer so wondered how much it would cost to hire a driver and trailer/horsebox for shows. Do they take you there and come back again later for pick-up or stay for the whole time? Sorry to be so thick!

You'd be better to hire and tow yourself! We pay £35 a day to hire a trailer. A trailer, towing vehicle and driver would be about £100 for local, considerably more for any distance. I hope I win the Your Horse lorry!

Yes around a hundred pounds for a local show. So expensive! Unless you could get someone to share the load, which would help.
You can't win the Your Horse lorry Olderyetwilder, because its going to be mine. Sorry.

About £100 round here too. cheaper to buy an old trailer and pay for storage.

Mine, all mine, I think you'll find, discobeaver Grin. Storage space for a trailer might be something to consider when you decide where to keep the pony

I don't suppose there's much chance that a rather ancient 1.8 Renault Laguna could pull a trailer with a heavyweight cob in it is there?
No thought not. Then I'm afraid the Your Horse lorry will have to be mine so tough luck! Grin
