Oh lord- this horse owning thing is hideous sometimes!

dd was giving her cousin a lesson on her lovely sure footed pony and she was going over some trotting poles and somehow the pony tripped and went down really hard. She got up straight away, but she was carrying a foreleg. Dn is fine, but pony has two grazed knees and a nasty cut on her fetlock. But worse, her fetlock is heated, even though we hosed it for ages. She was much better by the tine we turned her out but still favouring the leg a bit.

Waiting to see how she is in the morning. Just such a shock and so sudden!

ooh horrible, hope she is ok or better tomorrow

is scary isn't it, and yours is quite a spindly (Arab?) one I think so must seem quite fragile

She looks spindly but she's actually as tough as old boots- zooming over 3'6 solid cross country jumps last Monday! Just don't want her going into winter carrying an injury- she won't live in, and she's not as young as she was. Sad

Touch wood, better today, thank you. I went to the yard early panicking that she'd be standing in the field on three legs, but she seemed sound. Her fetlock still felt a little bit warm but the cuts and grazes looked ok. I think she might have got away with it. Fingers crossed. The
