her bum area looks more sticky-outy to me

but then,i have no idea what it ought to look like
i might be making it up

thisisyesterday · 05/07/2011 23:00

oh move out of that corner you bad horse!

AmyStake · 05/07/2011 23:01

What on earth is she doing? Is she scratching her arse on the wall?

thisisyesterday · 05/07/2011 23:03

i prefer to think that she is doing some "swaying"... her NCT teacher probably told her it would help

LittlePushka · 05/07/2011 23:03

Disasterpiece,....she had it! It is a colt and it is just off getting weighed right now!!

LittlePushka · 05/07/2011 23:03

Hee Hee Wink

thisisyesterday · 05/07/2011 23:03

oh i thought that was it, but it was just a poo lol

AmyStake · 05/07/2011 23:06

Do horses always lie down to foal? I am SURE I just saw something black when she turned around.

thisisyesterday · 05/07/2011 23:08

oooh look at her!

AmyStake · 05/07/2011 23:09

I think it was the inside of her leg Blush (well, I am pretty blind!)

Deffo think she's in labour though with the amount of arse scratching she's doing, she just lifted her tail up to do it.

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:11

*littlepushka I almost believed you until you got the foal mixed up with a human baby. Have you ever tried to get a foal on a set of scales? Wink

Amystake I think the majority of them do but they can have them stood up too.

thisisyesterday · 05/07/2011 23:12

oh look look look!!!!

she's asleep in the corner again Hmm

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:12

you know what, youd have though that those Two who came in could have just quickly picked up those poos.

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:13

You know when she looks up like that, I feel as if she knows we are watching her Blush

LittlePushka · 05/07/2011 23:15

Couldn't help myself disaster piece!! By the way, that has to be the quickest pit stop a baby has ever had! Is he doing the change himself??!!

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:18

Hes not a baby, hes 19 months, He has kidney problems, ureterostomies so needs his pad and nappy changing, I can do this really quick without waking him up, then he needs feeding which he does himself. I prod him, pass it to him, he guzzles it, chucks the bottle out of the cot then rolls over and nods off again.

We could put the F1 pit stop guys to shame with our quick change routine Grin

And I had a wee and got a drink Grin

BoffinMum · 05/07/2011 23:20

It's like waiting for the penguins to jump in the water at the zoo.

That horse is deffo not in labour IMO.

AmyStake · 05/07/2011 23:20

Oh bloody hell, she's back in the corner sleeping.

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:21

Shes not, shes asleep now.

AmyStake · 05/07/2011 23:26

Why didn't they pick up the poo when they were checking on her? She's eating poo hay :(

thisisyesterday · 05/07/2011 23:28

i've been reading this and i am now actually an expert on foaling

see how i mentioned her butt looked more sticky-outy... well it says that a swollen vulva happens before labour! could be a while to go still tho

also that in early labour they can get all agitated and then "cool" off a few times... so you never know, tonight could be the night

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:31

Amy DO you now anything about horses? I honestly dont mean that to sound as shitty as it does, just wondering if youve just come along for the show iykiwm.

Its just shes not eating pooey hay. The stable floor is full of straw where she has pood and where she will lie. She wont lie in the poo though.

They are supposed to eat hay, lots of greedy mares will also eat straw but wont ever eat pooey hay, just as they wont eat pooey grass in the field.

Disasterpiece · 05/07/2011 23:32

thisisyesterday Yes her vulva will look a bit swollen, I thought you meant her bum as in bum cheeks looked bigger Grin

AmyStake · 05/07/2011 23:34

Nope I know nothing about horses Grin. I'm here for the show. I missed the piglets but I don't want to miss this one.

LittlePushka · 05/07/2011 23:35

Why is the sire not there holding her hoof and wiping her forelock out of her eyes,...eh?

lots of looking backwards towards her rump. Cows and sheep do that when they labour.
