I have just given Ducky (our huge trad Shetland) a trace clip. My first ever! I used my little oster face clippers, they really are marvellous! Having never been clipped before, she stood stock still, even when I had to practically lie underneath her to trim round her lady bits! She looks fab and I just love her to pieces. We couldn't have a nicer pony!

Argh clipping - I hate this time of year. i have a show cob and do a full clip and hog.

Actually I feel a bit hard done by as my girl was so fine coated I never needed to clip her even in full work. I quite fancied a bit of hairdressing!!

I'd probably do a crap job. I never had to do it apart from while doing my stage 2.

You'd do better than me,don't own my own clippers so have always paid someone to do it (then I can blame it on someone else if it looks rubbish!)

We have a pair of Lister clippers and do all our own clips - much cheaper than paying somebody to do it.

I've got a cob as well and by the time we've clipped and hogged him we need to send the blades off for sharpening!

We actually have 2 sets - one to use and one to send off.

We change our clips depending on what we plan to do with them. The Sec As get bib clips (not yet though) and the cob now usually has a full clip except his legs which just get tidied - we used to do him all out when he was in his show pomp.

The connemara never gets clipped.

Believe me I would rather economise in other areas, I hate clipping with a passion!
