Teacher Sick Pay

I am currently off work sick with flu. I have been off for the past 3 days. I am really not well enough to return to work tomorrow but am concerned that this will affect my sick leave and the 5 days holiday will be counted as such. It is a state school, not academy or indie. School is reasonable, very rarely ill.

Does anyone know? Thanks

You can self certify for 7 days any longer you’d need a note.
This mentions school holidays if you are ill into half term.

Thank you. I guess I am really wondering if my sick days will be 9 days. The 4 from this week plus 5 from the holiday week. Or if it will just be counted as 4 days.

Either way, it cannot be helped. It seems to be one of those grey areas.

You just put the date and time you became fit to work again which I’m pretty sure can be the Saturday (office staff/SLT will know) or if you put Monday would still only be 7 days.
Hope you feel better soon.
