Extra hours

I have been asked to increase my working hours from 4 days to 5 for Term 5 and 6. I have now been asked to complete a monthly supply form for the extra day. I am.assuming that this means I won't get the extra days pay in the holidays. Is this correct and should I be asking for it? AI said that I should get it

I think it maybe depends on how your extra pay is calculated. When I do an extra day, I get 1/195 of my FT salary, which feels fair.

I’m in Scotland but here, supply hours are paid at a higher rate to account for holiday pay. Same with overtime hours.

It also means you won't get pension contributions.

It depends if it’s a permanent change to your contract or a temporary arrangement. If you will be doing 5 days from now on, including September, then it should be changed properly via contract and the August pay reflected. If school hasn’t done so then that’s a bit underhand on their part.

If it’s temporary and reverts back to 4 days in September then it won’t be included in August as they’ll only pay the actual days worked additional to contracted ones. You could, however, ask for it to be paid in August as goodwill for your flexibility. They don’t have to agree.
