CCTV in classrooms

I didn't know we had CCTV in our classrooms until til this week, when twice it has been used to prove students were in lessons, or to examine their behaviour. I don't remember ever agreeing to this. Do you have CCTV in school? How do you feel about it?

Is having CCTV actually legal - I don't actually know to be honest. If so there are questions regarding safeguarding.

Knowing whether a student is in lesson should be done via SIMS registration (or the equivalent) As for behaviour, there should be an on call system.

As a teacher I would not want to be filmed whilst I was at work.

I don't want to be filmed, either. I will question SLT as to the policy.

I have never heard of this and am amazed you weren't aware of it. I would not like this either.
