Hurt by pupils.

I have come home today with a scratch across my lip. It keeps bleeding. I was scratched yesterday by a pupil who is in school for an hour a day on a part-time time table. He was excluded until Thursday. Last week I was head butted. He is 4 and a quarter. I am very angry and frustrated...

I hope you are recording all of these in the accident book and that the children who assault you are punished for it.

I don't care if they're 4. You don't go to work to be assaulted.

I'm surprised he was excluded. My experience is children tend not to be even if physical. Especially surprised as aged 4.
I do agree that none of us should be hurt at school and if we or children are that it should be looked into very seriously and carefully.
Hope your lip gets better soon and strategies are brought in to support staff and the child.

My previous message sounds like I am belittling the incident; I certainly don't mean to. My experience of primary school suggests there is often a very high and inconsistent bar round what results in exclusion.
