Tips on fitting marking into week

I have recently returned to full time English teaching and it is pretty full on and exhausting. Any tips on how to fit in the marking in the spirit of work smarter, not harder? We only do a full assessment every few weeks but those weeks are difficult. By the end of the average teaching day, I am finding it difficult to then sit down to mark. I also have to complete my daily tasks as a mum in the evening and want/need to be there for my own children too. Aahhh!

i think I need to get back to doing at least 39 minutes of marking each day. That used to work to keep it under control. Also two hours marking at the weekend during busy periods. Not sure how sustainable this is! Thanks in advance.

I teach science rather than English, so I appreciate it's different, but most schools have moved away from that level of marking outside the classroom!

Can you provide more feedback in class? Or use a whole class feedback strategy?

If you look on you tube for Dixons open source messy marking, that may give you a strategy that allows you to give good feedback but in a shorter time frame.
